This is a small format book that can fit easily into a backpack. It contains one suggestion for each day of the year. The book starts off with a small questionnaire to help the reader gauge their own "Eco-Footprint" and then moves through different lifestyle situations thematically. It begins with the home and garden, to being Green at work, when out dining, dealing with the kids, going on vacation and simply on how best to recycle. Personally, I avoid the dishwasher as I am just one person and my dishes do not get that dirty being a vegetarian and I always take advantage of the gifts of Mother Nature and dry my clothes in the sun (though in a shaded area). The book is not indexed though the chapters make it fairly plain which section to visit for your needs. This is another book that is useful to couple with money-saying books and books that cover the best ways of being thrifty. (LOOK AFTER THE PENNIES by Tess Read comes to mind)
